The Jewel Is In The Lotus

The Jewel Is In The Lotus

People don't understand the lows it takes to reach great highs. If you want to feel more pleasure you'll have to feel more pain too. All things are balanced. You are your own heaven and your own hell. So cry in the storm or dance in the rain. Your perception is everything although it requires constant reinforcement and rebuilding.

Everyone crumbles from time to time. Everything is built on frequency and vibration so we all exist in waves. Waves of up and down, positive and negative, each feeling should be accepted and ridden to the next. Something my brother would tell us on our many psychedelic adventures 'wash over me' accepting any difficult feelings and allowing them to push you forward in to the light. Don't hold onto your fear. That's not how the cookie (mushroom) crumbles.

Music and sound are powerful tools which can be used to change how we feel and think. Remember the infamous music from the film Jaws ? Or the sweet hit of some Bob Marley ? Live Life every day like it's a flipping holiday. Music is the cure. Get up and dance you fuck! You can dance your way out of any darkness. When your in a hole all you can do is climb out. Get creative, make some music, try Launch Pad, a Tongue Drum or a bumboclart Bongo.

Mantras are also powerful tools to push your mind to a better place. I start everyday and end every night by reminding myself - 'only good things happen to me' and 'something amazing will happen today'. And you know what it always does. You've just got to be looking for it, capitalize on every opportunity to see and be good and the magic will happen.

The Buddhists of Nepal have many powerful mantras and prayers which they use in daily life, I often find myself coming back to Om Mani Padme Hum ( The Jewel Is In The Lotus). Across Northern India, Nepal and Tibet, you’ll often see this beloved mantra etched in stone. This is because every one of Buddha’s teachings is believed to reside within this one powerful mantra. It is repeated over and over again to invoke the loving and unconditional qualities of compassion. Within all of us is the lotus flower but first it must grow through the mud and dirt. Climbing out of the muck and leaving it all behind to become sparkling, pure, compassionate and wise.

So, from one thing, know ten thousand things. Know the smallest things and the biggest things, the shallowest things and the deepest things. Be a stone in the river and a leaf in the wind. Trust your feet. Move to the beat. Grove no sleep. Till I weep. Don't let the days repeat. Always take the leap. Go too deep. Bounce back, Rinse, Repeat !
